Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction, relaxation and promotion of healing using universal life force energy. Reiki treatments are performed by combining laying hands on or over the body of the client. The energy flows through the hands of the Reiki practitioner into recipient's energy centres.
It is believed that when our life force energy is low or is being blocked in our energetic centres by trauma or stubborn negative emotions, we are more prone to stress and illness. When energy circulates at an optimum level; our physical, emotional and spiritual state improves.

Reiki MAY improve a range of physical and emotional health benefits, including: better sleep, improved mood and pain relief according to published studies.
Research suggests that Reiki may help the body return to a state of deep relaxation, which allows it to heal potentially better from damage brought on by stress, injury, negligence or disease.
There is evidence that Reiki, used as complementary (additional) therapy with mainstream medical care, may help people recover after surgery and better manage symptoms of chronic illnesses and cancer.

Reiki may improve your life in a truly holistic way. It may stimulate your body’s innate healing abilities and deal with physical ailments. It may also target the root of problems, whether physical, mental, or emotional.
Reiki is known for its ability to deeply relax and relief stress, harmonise body, mind and spirit. Reiki may trigger a detox process in the body, helping to rid of physical toxin, negative thought patterns and destructive energy. Regular Reiki may increase intuition and help with awareness of one's life purpose.
Reiki is not a religion. It is simply a tool that works with whatever religious path you have chosen for your life – and equally well, if you do not follow traditional religious beliefs.
It is believed that the energy will move wherever it is needed, and may significantly aid the body’s innate healing abilities. In some cases, symptoms can increase for a short period when healing starts - It is known as a “healing crisis”. Deeper energy imbalances usually require more sessions.
For most people receiving a treatment is normally a deeply relaxing experience. Most of my clients feel that it balances, harmonizes and recalibrates their body and mind. Some clients experience a meditative state where they see colours or images or even embark on an “inner spiritual journey”.
Others feel warmth and peace, some do not feel anything. Even if they do not feel anything it is believed that the energy still flows and does its job. A limiting factor here is that person's sensitivity to energy. Some clients experience the release of suppressed emotions or problems.
As with any healing modality, the therapeutic effects cannot be guaranteed.
